The Role

Iberdrola Innovation Middle East carries out interdisciplinary innovation in secure, reliable, and efficient ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with governmental, industrial, and international partners. Our research activities in the areas of radio frequency (RF) and power line carrier (PLC) systems are currently expanding towards the emerging use cases for next-generation communications systems In this context, we are on the lookout for a highly proficient Telecom Engineer who is well-versed in modeling, design, and performance analysis of protocols and techniques for RF/PLC. Particularly: Planning, designing, commissioning and monitoring of complex telecommunication equipment and facilities Research and design work for new and existing customers. Develop network proposals and implement proposed solutions. Design and performance analysis of data-link and network layers protocols and techniques. Understanding of the physical layer protocols and techniques of RF and PLC communication systems. Preparing technical specifications and R&D research proposals. Opening his/her research line in synergy with the currents research projects In addition, candidates must possess impeccable written, verbal, and organizational skills. A side of self-management and autonomy would be most welcome!

Required Skills:

Degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field A solid telecommunication research background Planning, designing, commissioning and monitoring of complex telecommunication equipment and facilities Expert in solving complex engineering problems Experience with Matlab programming is desirable Experience in working with industrial projects or public-funded research projects is highly desirable Strong critical thinking and analytical skills

Preferred Additional Skills:

Experience with Python. Experience in ML and AI A strong mathematical background Knowledge of the current RF and PLC communication Standards Experience with standardization bodies Publication record in academic conferences and/or Journals Preference will be given to local candidates with a valid and transferable residency permit; provisions may be made for others if deemed necessary. This is a permanent full-time role based in the Qatar Science & Technology Park.
