Our focus is on developing complete analytical solutions through contract analysis or contract research projects to help our clients integrate macromolecular characteristics with their product performance and safety. Job Summary: PolyAnalytik is looking for a potential candidate to join the Applications Team to provide support in the development of scientific methods, draft work proposals, work plans, interim and final reports. This position is offered on a Full-Time basis to support our enthusiastic team in their characterization facility located at Western University\xe2\x80\x99s Research Park in London, Ontario. Part time candidates will be considered if they are in their graduating year. The successful applicant will be reporting directly to the Product Manager. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development of scientific work proposals, work plans, interim and final reports with close attention to detail and presentation.
• Conduct characterization physical, chemical, and structural characterizations of organic and polymeric compounds.
• Preferred hands-on characterization experience of: SEC/GPC, HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, NMR, FTIR, UV-vis, DSC, TGA, Rheology, Viscosity
• Develop and validate extraction procedures targeting polymers and/or organic molecules from complex matrices including biological tissues, bacterial cultures, soil, and formulated commercial products.
• Trace analysis of organic molecules and macromolecules.
• Identify, test, and validate chromatographic and other analytical methods to provide acceptance criteria of the method. Identify acceptance criteria for specific applications/tests that require ASTM, ISO, or ICH guidelines.
• Conduct scientific literature reviews with high efficacy for wide range of applications.
• Recommend best analytical practices and conditions for various analytical methods.
• Process, compile, and present large amount of analytical data with statistical relevance. Provide detailed explanation and discussion of the results and draw conclusions.
• Responsible for presenting statistically relevant trends and differences between samples through the use of graphs, charts, chromatograms.
• Perform routine and special analytical procedures with high accuracy and precision while meeting strict quality assurance guidelines of documentation when recording data;
• Responsible for presenting scientific data to the Applications Team and clients working collaboratively in cross-functional teams; liaising with customers, staff and suppliers;
• Conducting general wet chemistry experiments pertaining to extraction, isolation and purification of polymeric synthetic and bio-polymers.
• Operating, maintaining and conducting experiments with various liquid chromatography setups.
• Some travel maybe required to participate in scientific conferences or client site visits.

Qualifications:

• The preferred candidate would be graduate or in their final year of M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical & Biochemical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge and experience in laboratory principles, theories, procedures, methods, techniques, and practices to develop methods
• Possess proficiency in writing technical proposals, workplan, interim and final reports.
• Strong ability to determine project risks and contingency planning.
• Self-motivation and enthusiastic personality is a must.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
