Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant to join a project with Dr. Amal Akour to carry out research focused on the molecular basis of antiaging effect for antidiabetic medications.
Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelor degree in a relevant subject area (Pharmacology, biochemistry, medical analysis) and should have experience/training in the area of clinical and biomedical sciences. Namely, experience in patient recruitment and biochemical assays, together with experience in basic molecular techniques (such as PCR, ELISA) and human cell culture techniques. You will have experience of managing your own academic research and associated activities, together with previous experience of publishing original research. You will also have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
This full time fixed-term post is funded by the United Arab Emirates University for up to 2 years in the first instance and is based at the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Al-Ain, UAE.
