Handles all medical Neonatology cases in the department, and Inpatient's wards according to policies and procedures of the Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Attends all "at risk" deliveries.
Examination of all the newborn babies on daily basis and visits their mothers.
Manages sick newborn and NICU babies as appropriate.
Informs and works closely with the specialist/consultant in serious cases, NICU admissions, congenital anomalies, or cases requires referral to other physicians or other hospitals.
Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Pediatric Department Policy and Guidelines.
Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under his/her care within the resources provided by the program.
Arranges the patient transfer procedure including contacting the other hospital, stabilizing the patient and completing the referral notes and escorting the patient if required.
Resides in the hospital site while on call and will make sure the pager/telephone is in good working order.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
MBBS and Master Degree in Pediatrics / Neonatology
Minimum 1 year of experience after Master's degree in relevant specialty
Job-Specific/Technical Skills
Good communication skills.
Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.
Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital.
Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients' culture and beliefs).
AHA certified Basic Life support provider
PALS Pediatric Advance Life support
