Collects information on patient status from a variety of sources using assessment skills including observation, communication and physical assessment.
Completes nursing portion of history and physical form on all assigned patients on all assigned patients on entry to the Out Patient department.
Completes the vital signs and pain assessment stamped form on every visit, signs and documents all interactions with the patient in the progress notes
Plans care needed during the Out Patient visit.
Sets priorities when planning and carrying out Doctors\' orders and care.
Initiates prompt nursing interventions bases on changes in the patient condition, age and circumstances, if necessary.
Is adept and knowledgeable with the use of specific equipment used in the assigned department.
Is a developing clinical expert within the Out Patient department
Ensures timely and accurate documentation of all patients records according to CSEC standards and policies.
Anticipates, recognizes and manages emergencies, and unsafe situations/practice, and initiates appropriate and timely intervention.
Influences and facilitates change within the department in order to improve standards of care.
Performs all duties in a professional and confidential manner

Maintains patient\'s privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times.

Facilitates cooperation and communication between nursing staff, medical staff and all other departments in order to ensure maximum patient and staff satisfaction.
Utilizes supplies and equipment effectively to meet the needs of the patients.
Participates in regular stock inventory each year.
Practice measures that are cost effective in relation to supplies and other resources.
Notifies Nursing Team Leader / DoN of all important, administrative and clinical issues involving the Out Patient department.
Prioritizes work schedule to meet the needs of the patients
Enhances the working environment through teamwork and mutual respect of others.
Motivates and encourages self and others to achieve team, and organizational goals.
Act as preceptor for new nursing staff.
Utilizes critical thinking skills when making judgements, managing conflict and solving patient care problems/issues.
Demonstrates initiative and confidently contributes to the decision-making process.
Promote and fosters a no blame culture when dealing with incident reporting
Follows the established communication channels in the Nursing department.
Ensures exchanges of information and ideas among nurses in the Out Patient department are undertaken in an honest, direct and respectful manner.
Maintains a professional communication manner when dealing with outside agencies and departments including the DHA and the Ministry of Health.
Ensure a rapid communication system in Notification of Infectious diseases to the Nursing Team Leader / Director of Nursing / Infection Control Link Nurse.
Ensure adequate and appropriate feedback to all staff from outside meetings and committees.
Communicates as required in a timely and constructive manner.
Ensures all channels of communication: incident reporting, maintenance / IT/ Biomed requests, Time and attendance requirements are adhered to
Facilitates current trends in nursing and utilizes research based practices.
Identifies health education needs of patient/family and develops health education methods.
Participate in ongoing in-service training includes mandatory competency tested health, safety and infection control programs.
Demonstrates professional accountability and responsibility at all times.
Complies with the Nursing Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct for CSEC, Emirates Nursing Association (Emirates Nursing Council) , and DHA
Works within the established Scope of Practice for registered Nurses.
Maintains own staff development folder to record all educational activities and professional growth related to evidenced based practice and critical incidents.
Maintain registration with Nursing licensing board and DHA.
Maintains current knowledge in Clinical Practice.
Participates in annual performance review and identifies professional and personal goals to be achieved during the following 12 month including completion of the staff development portfolio.
