Job Description

Role Objective:

Actively manage the development of General Distributors in order to ensure maximum Sales & Marketing opportunities of MB Trucks are achieved, in the allocated markets within MENA region, involving potentially both CBU and/or CKD production

Steering and monitoring of the entire customer database incl. retail business and national fleets, per market, with the aim to maximize Sales as well as potential Aftersales revenue opportunities, in co-ordination with CSP market managers

Ensure full understanding of customer requirements, per market, in order to further develop customer specific solutions. Co-ordination with Product Management and CSP teams to further support in the development of products and downstream services

Steering and development of marketing plans in co-ordination with RC MENA marketing department with proper follow up and implementation of material/actions/events

Business development with local body builders & local leasing entities directly and/or indirectly in regards to all sales opportunities, per market

Ensuring Compliance and Business Ethics are adhered to according to laws and Daimler rule and regulations

Main Tasks

Sales & Marketing
  • Definition of annual target agreement for GDs (quantitative and qualitative) with continuous performance monitoring of achievements
  • Steering and direction in day-to-day business of GDs
  • Strategic co-ordination of customer database and customer visits, per market
  • Strategic co-ordination of sales/enquiry management per market with won/lost sales
  • Processing and evaluation of the special discount inquiries (SDI) of GD\'s
  • Safeguard compliance measures implemented
MENA Regional Office
  • \xc2\xb7 Operational Planning (OP) for quantitative and qualitative aspects, per market
  • Analysis and reporting of price positioning, per segment, per market
  • Monthly Kufri planning and reporting of volumes, per market
  • Accurate entering of agreed pricing conditions to ensure on time deliveries
  • Definition and co-ordination of product types, specifications and technical requirements with support from RC MENA Product Management
  • Co-ordination with Order Centre/Logistics at DTAG Stuttgart for timely shipping
  • Follow up of deliveries and invoices to GDs
Body Builder Management / Leasing
  • Co-ordination and business development with local body builders & local leasing entities, directly and/or indirectly, to maximise all sales opportunities
  • Co-ordinated approach to technical requirements with RC MENA Product Management
  • Regular market & customer visits throughout the region
Customer Dedication
  • Continuous alignment of Sales & Customer Service & Parts activities with RC MENA CSP team in order to align and further drive the downstream performance
  • Co-ordination of Network Development requirements with RC MENA ND Team
Integrity and Compliance
  • Ensuring Compliance and Business Ethics are adhered to according to laws and Daimler rule and regulations
Personal Development
  • Regular training in line with individual development plan
  • Participation into product, sales tools, internal process, compliance training/updates

  • Technical understanding of truck products and downstream services (European OEMs)
  • Highly developed Negotiation and Communication skills
  • Distinctive Customer-Oriented focus
  • Cultural knowledge of MENA region
Language Requirements:

Fluency in English and French in necessary. Arabic is beneficial.

Educational Requirements:
  • Graduate Degree in Engineering , Business Administration and/or equivalent qualification
Experience Requirements:
  • Commercial Vehicle Retail/Wholesale Sales & Marketing experience for min. 3+ years in MENA. Leadership experience preferable
  • Extensive knowledge of the Commercial Vehicle industries/segments in MENA
