The Regional Head of Integrity and Compliance - LATAM will lead, shape and manage the proper execution of the Arcera Group Integrity & Compliance (I&C) Program across all divisions of Arcera in the region of LATAM. With solid-line reporting to the Head of Integrity and Compliance of the Arcera Group, the Regional Head of Integrity and Compliance - LATAM will partner with regional leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure the alignment of the regions' business practices with our core values and strong culture of compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. I&C Program Management:

  • Lead the implementation, management and continuous improvement of an effective LATAM-wide I&C program, across the GenMed and TechOps divisions of the company, based on the minimum standards of the Arcera Group I&C Program.
  • Implement, manage and continuously improve regional LATAM compliance standards and policies necessary to adhere to best industry practices for the region, procuring local legal advice as required.
  • Proactively identify, assess and manage compliance risks affecting the LATAM region. Ensure adequate compliance controls are in place to address risks.
  • Ensure robust and fit-for-purpose regional systems and processes for the review and approval of HCP/HCO interactions, engagements and transfers of value.
  • In close collaboration with regional People & Culture, ensure robust management of conflicts of interest, including annual disclosures and proactive management of actual and perceived conflicts.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of third-party compliance risk management in the region, including due diligence, ongoing sanctions and other screenings, annual certifications, appropriate contract provisions, monitoring, etc.
  • Oversee the effective training of employees on applicable compliance principles, standards and policies as applicable to their roles, based on local training matrixes; ensure the proper archiving and tracking of auditable training records.
  • In close collaboration with the Head of Privacy, support the implementation of the data privacy program in the LATAM region and ensure and manage adequate internal and external resources to address local/regional data privacy requirements.
2. Regional I&C Advisory Role
  • Advise regional and local organizations on all compliance-related matters.
  • Guide the Regional I&C team to effectively partner with business to advise and enable the compliant implementation of Arcera's strategic objectives.
3. Regional I&C Assurance Role
  • In close collaboration with the Arcera Group I&C Function, manage the pro-active monitoring of compliance of the LATAM organization with the I&C program. Address critical findings with business leaders, ensuring the development of action plans for addressing all findings. Manage reporting on monitoring efforts to the regional and Arcera Group compliance committees.
  • In close collaboration with the Arcera Group I&C Function, ensure effective speak-up reporting lines for compliance issues within the LATAM organization. Support the management and follow-up of cases reported in the region via the speak-up system.
  • In close coordination with the Arcera Group Integrity & Compliance function and local leadership teams, conduct investigations of compliance reports and incidents; address incidents of non-compliant behavior in cooperation with relevant functions and managers.
  • Coordinate with regional People & Culture teams and other relevant functions on necessary disciplinary and corrective actions.
4. Regional I&C Team Management:
  • Lead, manage and develop members of the Arcera LATAM I&C team to build a high-performing team.
  • Manage regional compliance budgets and resource allocation, including the strategic use of external advisors to ensure efficient and effective compliance support for business initiatives.
5. I&C Governance and Leadership
  • Partner with the Arcera Group I&C team to continuously improve the company's I&C framework and program.
  • A member of the Arcera LATAM Leadership Teams.
  • Manage the LATAM Regional Compliance Committee.
  • Work to develop and strengthen an integrity mindset within regional senior and mid-level leadership and the entire LATAM organization.
  • Contribute to the Governance objectives of the Arcera Group Sustainability Program, including reporting on Sustainability KPIs on topics such as anti-corruption, anti-bribery and good governance practices to ensure ethical business practices.
  • Work to the highest levels of integrity and compliance, adhering to Arcera values and standards of ethical business conduct at all times.
  • Contribute to the Global I&C Team, sharing best practices and information with colleagues in other regions.
Key Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and applicable laws, regulations and industry standards. Broad and in-depth understanding of local and regional issues relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to create business relationships with internal and external stakeholders and colleagues in different functions.
  • Effective talent management and engagement to cultivate a workforce that is well aligned with current and emerging needs and requirements.   • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to create energy and excitement.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • 10-15 years of professional working experience in relevant roles in the pharmaceutical industry, including 3-5 years in leadership/management positions.
  • Proven track-record in the implementation, development and management of an international-level compliance program in a sizeable organization, including solid experience in conducting compliance monitoring and the investigation of compliance incidents.
  • A university degree from a reputable university in a relevant field; preferably additional qualifications as a compliance professional.
  • Established record in people management and talent development.
  • Experience with electronic systems and databases; experience with new/emerging technologies preferred.
  • Strong regional language skills and excellent command of the English, Spanish and Portuguese languages.
