We have partnered exclusively with a global, publicly traded energy company with global operations. The Gulf is an important region for them, and this will be a first hire on the ground.

• Sole Counsel position reporting to the US, essentially you'll be running your own market and deals.

What you'll be doing:

• Overseeing new projects and assets, drafting and negotiating the associated commercial contracts and associated risks within.
• Managing complex energy contracts across financing, EPC, gas and assets.
• Supporting all the internal business units across legal and compliance matters.

Who you'll likely need to be in order to succeed:

• Common law qualified with experience from sophisticated geographical energy markets (Gulf, US, Europe etc).
• Top tier law firm backgrounds are highly sought after, ideally combined with in-house energy work.
• There is some flexibility over seniority, but mid to senior is a guideline (5+ PQE to 12 PQE).
• Strong blended skill set that covers projects, project finance, EPC, power, LNG and maritime.
• Those based in the Gulf right now will be prioritised, but overseas applications are welcome.
