We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Refrigeration Technician to lead our transport refrigeration service operations, covering Carrier and Thermo King systems installed in trucks, trailers, containers, vans, and buses. The candidate will also be responsible for managing HVAC systems in commercial, industrial, and vehicle applications, including MAN Trucks & Buses. This role requires hands-on expertise, leadership in workshop/field settings, and the ability to respond quickly to breakdowns and service needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport Refrigeration Systems (Carrier & Thermo King):
Install, service, and maintain Carrier (150, 250, 330) and Thermo King (MD Dairy, T600) units.
Troubleshoot and repair microboards, command displays, relay boards, and electrical faults.
Perform preventive maintenance, leak detection, refrigerant charging (R404a, R134a, R452).
Overhaul compressors, mechanical clutches, starter motors, and alternators.
Service coils, filters, belts, and perform welding and soldering as needed.
Attend on-road breakdowns and complete field repairs for refrigerated sales vans and trucks.
Commercial, Domestic & Industrial HVAC Systems:
Maintenance of central AC plants with BMS systems.
Installation and servicing of window, split, cassette, and ductable AC units.
Troubleshooting of refrigeration systems including refrigerators, air coolers, and cascade units.
Experience with package units and complex industrial refrigeration applications.
MAN (Truck & Bus) HVAC Systems:
Compressor and clutch replacement.
Replacement of blower motors and refrigeration hoses.
System flushing, evacuation, and gas charging.
Electrical and refrigeration diagnostics for heavy vehicles.
Workshop Leadership & Coordination:
Lead and supervise technicians in both workshop and field operations.
Create technician schedules, allocate tasks, and ensure timely job completion.
Maintain service records and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards.
Liaise with internal departments for parts, planning, and service updates.
Required Qualifications:
ITI or Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with transport refrigeration and AC systems.
Strong familiarity with Carrier and Thermo King systems.
Automotive HVAC knowledge, especially MAN Truck & Bus, is a strong plus.
Technical Competencies:
Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, pressure diagnostics, and AC servicing.
Proficient in reading wiring diagrams and service manuals.
Skilled in compressor and clutch repairs, bearing replacements, leak testing, and soldering.
Refrigerant handling (R404a, R134a, R452) and compliance with safety protocols.
Expertise in field servicing and emergency response for breakdowns.
