Your Day to Day: As Recreation Supervisor, you will supervise the recreation operations to ensure quality service and standards while delivering a guest experience that is unique, creative and fun. Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe environment using proper safety techniques. Train and assist in the evaluation of attendants who work with fitness programs. Supervise instructors and all other Team Members helping with any activities or functions arranged via the Sports & Recreations. Some of your main role responsibilities are:
  • Supervise day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Develops, implements, monitors, evaluates, and supervises the operations of assigned recreation program areas and facility operations.
  • Oversees and supervises the activities of subordinate staff and volunteers; selects, assigns, trains, directs, schedules, and monitors staff duties; evaluates employee performance and initiates disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Responsible for the appropriate training of employees in assigned areas of responsibility; plans and conducts in-service training programs; monitors status of required licenses and certifications; structures the evaluation and professional development of program staff to ensure a high performing team.
  • Oversees and manages third party contract services.
  • Conducts research to identify programs of value and interest to the community; evaluates program effectiveness and viability; makes recommendations on new programs or modifications of existing programs to meet resort needs.
  • Performs routine facility maintenance and ensures repairs are completed as needed.
  • Responsible for supervising and coordinating logistics for facility rentals, including, but not limited to, providing tours and information to prospective renters, and implementing details outlined in rental agreements to ensure events are properly executed with optimal satisfaction.(fitness membership)
  • Monitors inventory, orders supplies, maintains purchase records within current budget.
  • Assist the Recreation Manager in identify opportunities, develops, and prepare of recreation program budget ; projects revenue, expenditures, and purchases of supplies and equipment.
  • Manages program registration in assigned areas and its fee collection, reviews records and files to ensure proper accounting and documentation
  • Ensure all recreation facilities are cleaned, vacuumed, and properly stocked with necessary amenities and supplies according to anticipated business volume. Notify engineering immediately of any maintenance and repair needs.
  • Maintains records on program activities, attendance, and other pertinent information; prepares a variety of operational and business reports, and associated correspondence.
Ideally, you\'ll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we\'re looking for:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree / higher education qualification
  • 1 to 2 years supervisory experience in a luxury recreation facility of a five star resort or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Having UAE Lifeguard license for pool and beach is mandatory first aider certification is an advantage
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, particularly to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. second language skills desired( Arabic, German, Russian)
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team with colleagues from different cultures and countries.
  • In order to look the part, the candidate must be positive, sportive, and proactive individual with an outgoing, charismatic and approachable character and with a high aptitude for customer care, good leadership skills, and the capability to motivate and guide a team.
