Reception Manager / Hostess
Reports To: Supervisor
Supervises: Reservations Agent
Overview: The Reception Manager is the first and last point of contact for guests, managing the entrance, reservations book, and seating chart. They set the tone for the guest experience and control the flow of the dining room.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet and farewell all guests upon arrival and departure.
  • Manage the reservations system, strategically plotting the seating chart to optimize table turnover and server balance.
  • Manage the waitlist during busy periods, providing accurate quoted times.
  • Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus.
  • Answer phone calls promptly and handle general inquiries.
  • Coordinate with the Supervisor and Head Waiter on VIP arrivals and special requests.
  • Oversee the coat check and restroom maintenance.
  • Train and supervise the Reservations Agent.
Requirements:
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Professional, gracious, and welcoming demeanor.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm during peak hours.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with reservation software (e.g., OpenTable, Resy).
