Job Description

Qualifications:

Civil or Architectural Engineer with a Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in Civil/Architectural Engineering (Urban Planning or Design). Minimum of 10 years of experience in strategic planning, national policy, and economic feasibility studies for rail systems, preferably in GCC countries.

Prepare strategic plans for rail requirements in line with the country's urban and population growth. Manage rail projects and coordinate with Qatar Rail for local and regional implementation according to schedule and budget. Liaise effectively with key stakeholders including government agencies and prepare monthly technical reports. Review preliminary designs and specifications for local and regional rail projects. Evaluate operator performance against KPIs and audit financial support invoices based on performance. Review project feasibility and evaluate safety certifications and licenses. Ability to present strategic transportation plans, such as development plans adjacent to public transport corridors (TODs), smart city planning, and conducting related feasibility studies, in line with local culture and the country's development plans. Providing technical support for projects related to public transport corridors (TODs), by providing technical and analytical studies that include the development and preparation of policies, guidelines, and legal regulations. * Ability to provide solutions from an urban planning/design perspective for all issues related to public transport facilities, buses, and infrastructure, in accordance with the requirements of the approved comprehensive transportation plan and relevant legislation and regulations.
