The radiologist interprets medical images, collaborates with referring physicians, and may also perform image-guided procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret diagnostic imaging results including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, PET scans, ultrasounds, and mammograms.
Prepare detailed reports of imaging findings for referring physicians.
Consult with medical professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures and assist in diagnosis.
Perform interventional radiology procedures (if applicable), such as biopsies or minimally invasive treatments using imaging guidance.
Ensure imaging practices adhere to radiation safety standards and regulations.
Supervise and collaborate with radiologic technologists and other staff to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care.
Participate in continuing education and stay updated with advancements in radiology and medical imaging technology.
Provide guidance in the selection and maintenance of imaging equipment.
