Job Title: Offshore Telecom Supervisor

Department: Telecommunications / Instrumentation

Location: Offshore Oil & Gas Platform

Reports To: Offshore Instrumentation & Telecom Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Telecom Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, commissioning & troubleshooting of all telecommunications systems on the offshore platform. This includes radio systems, satellite communication, data networks, PABX, CCTV, PA/GA systems, and other related infrastructure essential for safe and efficient offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise telecom technicians and ensure effective maintenance and troubleshooting of telecom systems.

Ensure the integrity and continuous availability of all communication systems(VHF/UHF radios, VSAT, PABX, intercom, CCTV, PA/GA, etc.).

Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and onshore support teams for repairs, upgrades, and system enhancements.

Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations and company policies.

Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, schematics, and maintenance logs.

Assist in commissioning and integration of new telecom equipment.

Support emergency communications readiness and drills.

Requirements:

Education & Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.

Valid offshore certifications: BOSIET, HUET, H2S, Offshore Medical, etc.

Certification in telecom systems (e.g., Cisco, Motorola, Alcatel, etc.) is a plus.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of experience in telecom systems, with at least 2 years in an offshore oil & gas environment.

Proven experience with PAGA, CCTV, VSAT, PBX, LAN/WAN, and radio systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of telecommunications principles and offshore safety standards.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication skills and ability to lead a small technical team.

Familiarity with industry-specific software and SCADA/instrument interfaces is an advantage.
