Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor with a specialization in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, with a proven track record of managing MEP-related projects in the UAE. This role is critical for overseeing cost management, ensuring budget adherence, and providing accurate financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for MEP systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, based on project drawings, specifications, and requirements. Develop and manage detailed project budgets, including cost forecasts, financial reports, and cash flow analyses. Evaluate and analyze subcontractor quotations and proposals, recommending cost-effective solutions.

Contract Management:

Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and administration of MEP-related contracts and variations. Ensure that all contract terms and conditions are adhered to, and manage contractual obligations related to MEP works. Prepare and submit interim valuations, progress claims, and final accounts for MEP components.

Cost Control and Monitoring:

Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying and addressing potential cost overruns and implementing corrective actions. Conduct site visits to review MEP work progress, verify quantities, and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards. Track and manage changes, ensuring all variations are documented, approved, and incorporated into the project cost management process.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate and organized records of all cost-related documentation, including contracts, change orders, and financial reports. Prepare and submit detailed cost reports, including cost analysis, variance reports, and financial forecasts. Provide timely and accurate reports to project stakeholders and management.

Coordination and Communication:

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination on cost-related issues. Provide advice and support on cost-related matters, including value engineering and cost-saving opportunities specific to MEP systems. Participate in project meetings and provide insights on cost control and financial management.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

Ensure all cost management activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and UAE regulations. Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial procedures and controls.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on MEP systems in the construction industry, ideally within the UAE.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of MEP systems, construction practices, and cost management techniques. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, standards, and practices.
