Quantity Surveyor Overview: We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Consultant with expertise in obtaining project measurements, utilizing BIM models for information extraction, and producing Bills of Quantities (BoQ) with a thorough understanding of local pricing dynamics. The ideal candidate will have prior consultancy experience and a minimum of 10 years of overall experience in quantity surveying and cost consultancy. Responsibilities:
Project Measurement: Conduct comprehensive measurements of project components and materials to accurately quantify requirements for construction projects.
BIM Utilization: Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to extract relevant data and information for quantity surveying purposes, ensuring precision and efficiency in measurement processes.
Cost Estimation: Analyze project specifications and requirements to estimate costs associated with materials, labor, equipment, and other resources, taking into account local pricing factors.
Bills of Quantities (BoQ) Preparation: Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) based on project measurements and cost estimations, providing clear and accurate documentation for tendering and procurement processes.
Cost Consultancy: Provide expert advice and consultation on cost-related matters, including cost optimization strategies, value engineering opportunities, and cost management throughout the project lifecycle.
Tendering Support: Assist in the tendering process by preparing and evaluating tender documents, conducting cost analysis, and providing recommendations to clients and project teams.
Cost Reporting: Generate regular cost reports and updates, tracking project expenditures, identifying variances, and forecasting future costs to support project decision-making.
Client Liaison: Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of cost objectives with project goals and budget constraints.
Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of overall experience in quantity surveying and cost consultancy, with a focus on construction projects.
Prior consultancy experience is essential, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software for quantity surveying purposes, such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar.
Strong knowledge of local pricing dynamics and market trends in construction materials, labor, and equipment.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to accurately quantify project requirements and estimate costs.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders and negotiate cost-related matters.
Proficiency in cost estimation techniques, including cost breakdown analysis, resource pricing, and cost modeling
