Prepare and analyze project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections for steel construction projects.
Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from architectural and engineering drawings to determine material quantities and labor requirements.
Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive bids for materials, equipment, and services.
Monitor project expenditures, track costs against budgets, and identify any variances or discrepancies.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to forecast project costs and provide regular updates on financial performance.
Review and validate contractor payment applications, change orders, and invoices for accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
Prepare detailed progress reports, cost reports, and financial analyses to support project decision-making and reporting requirements.
Conduct cost-benefit analyses and value engineering assessments to optimize project profitability and efficiency.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, and procurement strategies as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting construction costs and procurement practices.
Requirements:
Bachelor\'s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field. Master\'s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, preferably with a focus on steel structures and infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs, particularly related to steel constructions.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools, such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimations.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
Familiarity with UAE construction regulations, standards, and procurement practices.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Professional accreditation or certification in quantity surveying is preferred.
