Black & Grey HR is currently recruiting on behalf of a leading developer in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our client is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role demands a proactive and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor with a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring precise cost estimation, effective quantity surveying practices, and adherence to project timelines and budget constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, and associated costs.
- Collect and verify quantity measurements on site, preparing detailed quantity survey reports.
- Provide technical advice and assistance on all facets of quantity surveying activities to support informed decision-making.
- Actively participate in site visits and contribute to the preparation of detailed reports as directed by the project manager.
- Identify potential risks associated with project costs and offer recommendations for effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Assess the impact of variations and change orders on project costs and timelines, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
- Assist in reviewing and monitoring actual expenditure against budget for contractors and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with the project team to resolve any quantity or cost-related issues that may arise during the project execution phase.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to address concerns, provide updates, and manage expectations.
- Ensure strict adherence to contractual and legal obligations related to quantity surveying and cost control.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends through continuous learning and exploration, actively engaging in professional development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related fields
- 4+ years in quantity surveying role with at least 1 year of experience in the Middle East region in real estate construction supervision projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing quantity surveying software and tools like Primavera, Revit, AutoCAD, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, and DMCS (Document and Materials Control System)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus

- Strong presentation, interpersonal, public speaking, technical writing skills and business acumen
- Comprehension and adeptness in navigating construction contract commercial documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Adept at building and maintaining trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and ability to deal with clients on a daily basis in high-pressure environments
