We are currently recruiting for Quantity Surveyor for our prestigious client based in Abu Dhabi.
Responsibilities:
1. Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing architectural plans, specifications, and other relevant documents.
2. Tendering: Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tenders, including conducting cost analysis and recommending the most cost-effective solutions.
3. Cost Control: Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and reporting on budget variations.
4. Quantity Takeoff: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine material quantities required for project execution.
5. Contract Management: Assist in the negotiation and administration of construction contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
6. Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities and propose alternative construction methods or materials to achieve cost savings without compromising quality.
7. Variation Assessment: Assess and price variations or change orders, considering their impact on project costs and timelines.
8. Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports and forecasts, providing accurate and up-to-date information on project finances to stakeholders.
9. Final Account Settlement: Assist in the settlement of final accounts with contractors and subcontractors, ensuring all works are properly measured and valued.
10. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to cost and contract management, implementing appropriate measures to protect the project\'s financial interests.
11. Cost Benchmarking: Conduct market research and maintain a database of construction costs to support future cost estimates and benchmarking exercises.
12. Collaborative Communication: Liaise and collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure effective communication and alignment on cost-related matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor\'s degree in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications or memberships (e.g., RICS, AIQS) may be preferred.
- Proven experience as a quantity surveyor in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and costs.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in calculations and reports.
