Function
The Quality Manager monitors and gives advice on quality activities in the project phase and the preparation for operations phase within quality assurance and control and project execution. The Quality Manager is integrated within the Project Management Team to jointly ensure achievement of project objectives as follows:
Liaise closely with client and subcontractors\xe2\x80\x99 teams to ensure high level of quality assurance and control at the shipyard, other fabrication yards and related sites
Monitors and actively promotes compliance with legislative, client, AIP required standards and address and follow up on deviations from such
Ensure that all project subcontracts and subcontractors reflect the required regulatory and standards compliance
Give proactive training and guidance to own personnel, subcontractors and the client within quality
Accountabilities
Monitor that project activities are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements and the Project Execution Plan.
Prepare, implement and follow-up the Project Quality Plan.
Ensure good cooperation, communication and alignment between the base organization and the project.
Follow up project nonconformity handling related to QA & QC.
Support the Project Team in establishing, documenting and publishing the Project Management System and tools.
Transfer of Quality related experience within, to and from the project.
Act as AIP focal point for system criticality assessments as input towards Contractor ITPs.
Act as the main point of contact for the client and Contractors regarding Quality issues at the shipyard, fabrication yards and related sites.
Report status on audits, inspections, nonconformities and deviations to the project management and client.
Provide necessary input to the risk management system.
Requirements
Engineering degree or equivalent.
Minimum 15 years of on-site experience with Quality in large offshore projects, ideally in combination with a related operations background. Shipyard exposure and experience in the Emirates / Middle East region an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills applied to a multi-disciplined and multi-culture project team.
Knowledge about operations including reporting system, offshore Quality regulations
Proficient English verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentationsGood understanding of risk management, processes and procedures.
Knowledge and experience with UK regulations and international standards an advantage.
Personality and experience to be a driving force for all QA and QC related matters for the project team and the subcontractors
Proactive approach with the ability to build relationships with Client, Contractor and AIP teams and ability to provide solutions to problems and issues faced.
Organized, systematic and flexible with a good attention to details
Diplomacy and assertiveness with ability to influence positive change
Ability to challenge and be challenged in a positive manner
Contract and contractor management experience and acumen, an advantage.
