InterContinental Dubai Marina is a Five Star luxury hotel in the heart of Dubai Marina with 328 rooms and residence suites, flexible event space and restaurants & bars. With over 30 languages and countries represented by the staff, the hotel weaves together an international five star presence.

Your day to day

This role is a key member of the hotel management team and working closely with the Revenue Manager. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Maximize hotel revenue, RevPAR, GOP and guest satisfaction by making sure that all reservation enquires are professionally, and promptly handled
• Motivate, and develop the reservations team on an ongoing basis
• Recruiting, training and development of reservations staff
• Delivers a pro-active sales culture within the department, exercising and ensuring proper selling and up-selling techniques are implemented to generate maximum revenue for the hotel.
• Managing third party sites and agents to control inventory, handle close-out dates and overbooking situation
• Ensure the proper implementation of reservations procedures and the team to meet stretched targets
• Generate a culture of high quality standards of customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts.
• Maintains accurate records of data essential to future business plans and generates weekly and monthly reports required by the management
• Handle and resolve guest issues in a positive manner so as to protect company revenue and result in guest satisfaction

What we need from you

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working as a Reservations Manager or Assistant Reservations Manager for five star hotel
• Demonstrate excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills with customers and other hotel departments
• Ability to effectively manage and motivate the individuals within your team to support them in achievement of their personal development goals
• Knowledge of Opera is desirable
• Confidence in working towards agreed goals and achieving targets
• Strong training and development skills so you can share your abilities and experience with others
