About the role

As the Quality, Internal Control & Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a robust and effective Internal Control Framework (ICF) to ensure Qatar Airways' operational efficiency, accurate reporting, compliance, and process risk management, fostering accountability and transparency across the Group.

Key responsibilities

Contribute to the scoping of the ICF on high priority processes in the Group with a focus on the assigned area of responsibility. Support process and control owners in ensuring adherence to defined ICF methodology through systematic quality assurance to ensure uniform documentation of processes, risks and controls within the assigned areas of responsibility. Collaborate with process owners to design robust, high-quality workflows that mitigate risks before they occur. Ensure the performance of risk-based Internal Control testing within the assigned areas of responsibility to contribute to Group-wide ICF effectiveness monitoring. Facilitate the risk-based remediation of identified control gaps. Provide input into routine internal control related reporting to provide assurance on risk mitigation, ICF effectiveness and status of Internal Controls, Key Risk Indicators, audit findings, and recommendations. Continuously evaluate and improve existing control processes and the ICF overall, recommending and supporting in the implementation of changes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy. Identify and assess potential risks to the Group's operations, financial reporting, and compliance, considering industry standards and regulatory requirements. Contribute to Compliance oversight by monitoring and enforcing adherence to internal policies, procedures, and external regulations, and by fulfilling Corporate requirements in regard to Enterprise Risk Management and Compliance Management, ensuring the Finance Division operates within legal and ethical boundaries. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits, reviews, and assessments of internal controls, providing necessary documentation and insights. Works closely with various departments / functions across the Group (including ERM, Compliance and Internal Audit) and to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and internal controls. Work on other internal control related tasks as they arise.

About you

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of working experience in Internal Controls environment. Working knowledge of ICFR (Internal Controls & Financial Reporting), risk management frameworks and management systems, including but not limited to COSO, SOX 404, ISO31000 or equivalents. Command of English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. Proven influential and consultative approach, solution focus, and strong negotiating skills. Ability to work within tight timeframes and balance competing stakeholder demands and expectations. Proven problem - solving abilities in a collegiate environment. Ability to foster teamwork among team members. Highly organised, effective at project management and can manage conflicting priorities

Preferred


Qualified accountant or Certified Internal Auditor with a Big 4 background and / or experience in a large, multinational organisation. Aviation experience
