Job Summary

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that air-conditioning products meet company quality standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations. This role oversees inspection activities, product testing, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process--from incoming materials to finished AC units.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance (QA)

Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 standards. Create and update quality control procedures, SOPs, inspection criteria, and test protocols for AC components and finished units. Conduct internal audits of production processes including assembly lines, coils manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, charging stations, and performance testing. Review engineering drawings, product specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for compliance. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions) for recurring quality issues. Collaborate with R&D and Engineering teams on new product development (NPD) to ensure quality requirements are embedded from design to production.

Quality Control (QC)

Perform and supervise incoming material inspections: compressors, motors, copper tubes, aluminum fins, sheet metal parts, PCBs, sensors, refrigerants, etc. Oversee in-process inspections: Conduct final product testing: cooling performance, airflow, noise level, power consumption, and safety compliance. Ensure calibration and proper use of measuring instruments (CMM, leak detectors, gauges, multimeters, etc.). Approve or reject materials and products based on quality standards and inspection data.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare quality reports, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), deviation reports, and inspection checklists. Maintain detailed records for traceability, audits, and customer requirements. Monitor and report key quality KPIs: defect rates, process capability, scrap %, rework %, customer complaints.

Supplier Quality

Evaluate and qualify suppliers for key AC components. Conduct vendor audits and oversee supplier corrective actions. Ensure raw materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.

Continuous Improvement

Implement Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma tools to improve product quality and reduce waste. Analyze trends in defects and implement preventive measures. Train production staff on quality standards, product specifications, and inspection techniques.

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 2-5 years experience in QA/QC within HVAC, appliances, or manufacturing industries. Strong knowledge of air-conditioning components, assembly processes, and testing methods. Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and/or ISO 45001 standards. Proficiency in root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, Pareto). Experience in SPC, control charts, gauge R&R, process capability studies. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of refrigerants, HVAC safety standards, and electrical regulations is an advantage. Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of ERP/QMS software preferred.
