Position Overview

The Quality Control Engineer ensures that all construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. This role involves monitoring construction processes, conducting inspections, and implementing quality assurance procedures to guarantee the durability, safety, and efficiency of structures.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control

Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and checklists for construction projects. Inspect materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure compliance with specifications and codes. Monitor construction activities to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed records of inspections, test results, and corrective actions. Prepare quality reports and submit non-conformance reports (NCRs) when standards are not met. Ensure proper documentation of approvals, permits, and certifications.

Testing & Compliance

Coordinate with laboratories for material testing (concrete, steel, soil, etc.). Verify that construction methods meet safety and environmental regulations. Conduct audits to ensure adherence to ISO standards or project-specific quality requirements.

Collaboration

Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and subcontractors to enforce quality standards. Provide technical guidance and training to site staff on quality procedures. Liaise with clients and consultants regarding quality-related matters.
Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Proven experience (3-7 years) in quality control within construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and standards (ASTM, ACI, BS, ISO). Familiarity with QA/QC documentation, inspection procedures, and testing protocols. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, Primavera, MS Project).
Work Environment

Primarily site-based with regular inspections and audits. Requires coordination with multiple stakeholders (contractors, consultants, clients). May involve extended working hours depending on project deadlines.
