The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes on construction projects. They ensure that all construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements to deliver a safe and high-quality project.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain the project's quality control plan and procedures.
Review project specifications, drawings, and standards to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Conduct inspections and testing of materials, equipment, and workmanship on site.
Monitor and report on construction activities to ensure adherence to approved quality plans.
Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and follow up on corrective actions.
Liaise with contractors, consultants, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
Maintain and update quality records, inspection reports, and test certificates.
Participate in internal and external audits and assist in developing preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and client requirements.
Provide technical support and training to the site team on quality matters.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.
Proven experience (3-7 years) as a QC Engineer in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, materials testing, and construction standards (ISO, ASTM, BS, etc.).
Familiarity with industry codes, regulations, and best practices.
Proficiency in MS Office and quality management software (e.g., Aconex, Primavera, Procore - if applicable).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication, reporting, and teamwork abilities.
Certification in quality management (ISO 9001, CQE) is a plus.
