Our client a multinational british catering company based in UAE
The candidate will work on verifying quality control, monitoring that food safety procedures and documentation are being followed, problem solving as it relates to food safety issues, and assisting with compliance with HACCP, GMP, and SQF.
And he/she will oversee the maintenance and upgrade of sanitation and hygiene standards to ensure all food served to guests and employees is free of microbiological, chemical, and physical contamination and all work areas conform to the required hygiene and sanitation levels.
Responsibilities and duties:
Specific responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
Sample collection for microbial testing.
Record test results and maintain appropriate documentation.
Select produce samples for food safety, time study, and quality control testing.
Responsible for product quality inspections and proper storage
Responsible for quality checks for all ready-prepared and raw foods.
Verify and communicate to appropriate departments any findings that relate to food safety and/or quality issues.
Assist with the maintenance of food prep and handling equipment, surfaces, and tools.
Help develop, maintain, and update all records, manuals, training procedures, and product specification books as they pertain to food safety and quality control.
Assist with preparation for any and all food safety audits.
Perform other duties as required by management.
Responsible for developing and implementing food safety training programs for employees to ensure they are aware of proper food handling procedures.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine: Food Safety and Hygiene Program or equivalent
College of Science, Division of Biological Sciences
College of Agriculture: Master\'s degree in food safety and quality or equivalent
College of Agriculture: Bachelor of Food Science or equivalent
Skills:
Must be able to perform basic computer tasks, including MS Office.
Documentation and write reports on food handling and food safety.
Communication and interpersonal skills, as well as constantly educating food handlers for the staff on how to follow proper guidelines in the kitchen through oral and written communication.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 1-2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in food safety and hygiene in a hospitality or similar large restaurant complex is preferable; a preferred prerequisite is experience in the hotel industry.
Must be able to work independently.
Must be familiar with HACCP, GMP\xe2\x80\x99s, and food regulations.
Must be flexible with work hours and able to work weekends or holidays if required.
Knowledge and Training:
level 4 international award in food safety management for manufacturing.
Requirement of GMPs in food premises certificates
Principles and implementation of HACCP in food processing plants
food safety management requirement with reference to ISO 22000.
