A QHSE Officer (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining systems that ensure organizational compliance with relevant quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities:
o
Act as the point of contact for all QHSE related matters in the shift
o
Ensure that MAB services meet both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
o
Coordinate the activities required to meet quality and HSE standards.
o
Monitor and advise on the performance of the HSE and quality management system and produces data and report on performance, measuring against set indicators.
o
Liaise with other departments throughout MAB to ensure that the QHSE system is functioning properly and where appropriate, advise on changes and their implementation and provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve quality.
o
Set QHSE improvement objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.
o
Assessing specifications and their suppliers and comparing them with customer requirements.
o
Develop and maintain a strong internal/external customer focus; build effective relationships and work well with partners to achieve customer satisfaction.
o
Monitor and audit performance of suppliers and subcontracted services and ensuring performance are monitored against contracted SLAs and KPIs.
o
Carry out Quality and HSE audits periodically.
o
Working with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
o
Defining QHSE procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
o
Drafting/updating Standard Operating Procedures as and when required as per Company standards.
o
Conduct Quality and HSE Risk Management analysis and ensure controls are in place to minimize risk.
o
Develop KPI charts and use the Balanced Scorecard.
o
Identifying relevant HSE and quality-related training needs and delivery training.
o
Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive QHSE procedures.
o
Liaising with customers' auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.
o
Ensuring project Risk Assessment / Job Hazard Analysis
o
Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.
o
Ensuring the Emergency arrangements are in place and initiate mock drills.
o
Ensure all incidents, accidents and near misses are investigated and corrective actions implemented.
o
Ensure HSE communications are effectively managed at all levels.
o
Conserve energy consumption whenever possible.
o
Ensure that subordinates comply with MAB's energy policy, procedures and energy management system requirements.
o
Support energy performance improvement initiatives.
o
Participate in Emergency & First Aid activities.
o
Report near misses, incident and initiate/participate in incident investigations.
o
Participate in HSE and Cross Functional meeting as required.
o
If an imminent danger is observed or a task is assigned that poses risk of death or serious injury, promptly, will warn any person who is at risks and immediately stop the work and discuss the hazardous situation.
o

Promptly reports the stop work to supervisor/FM Manager/OM including high risk subcontractor work, promptly reports to their company designated representative and to the client
Required Knowledge and skills:
o
5-7 years of experience as QHSE officer in Facilities management or maintenance
o
Museum or similar large projects experience preferred
o
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
o
Ability to lead a team and work accurately
o
Well organized and time management
Required Qualification:
o
Bachelor's degree in any discipline
o
Minimum 5 years' experience post qualification
o
Minimum 3 years' Experience in FM industry similar projects or construction or large projects, hospitals, airports and large malls
o
Training and Experience in:-ISO 9001 - Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001 - Environmental Management Systems, OHSAS 18001 - Occupational Health & Safety, ISO 50001 - Energy Management Systems
o
Must be certified NEBOSH International General Certificate.
o
IMS-Internal auditor course certified preferred.
