Qa/qc Inspector – Welding

Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect welding activities including fit-up, welding processes, and final welds to ensure compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and project standards. Verify welder qualifications and maintain welder performance records. Review WPS, PQRs, and welding consumable certificates for compliance. Monitor pre-heating, inter-pass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment as per project requirements. Conduct visual inspection and coordinate NDT (RT, UT, MT, PT) with third-party and client representatives. Prepare and maintain inspection reports, welding logs, and other QA/QC documentation. Raise and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) related to welding activities when required. Ensure proper storage and handling of welding consumables at the site. Participate in internal and external audits as needed. Ensure adherence to safety standards during all welding activities on site.
Requirements:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC welding inspection in construction/oil & gas projects. Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, etc.), WPS, and international standards (ASME, API, AWS). Experience in coordinating and interpreting NDT results. Strong documentation, reporting, and communication skills. Ability to work under site conditions in Ras Laffan.
