Job Summary:

We are looking for a

QA/QC Inspector - Structural

to oversee and ensure the quality and compliance of structural fabrication, erection, and welding activities in line with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements. The role involves conducting inspections at various stages of fabrication and installation, reviewing documentation, ensuring adherence to quality procedures, and supporting the resolution of non-conformities in structural works.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform inspections on structural fabrication and erection activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality plans. Review and verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs), welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and welder qualifications (WQTs). Monitor fit-up, welding, and dimensional inspections for structural steel components (beams, columns, bracings, platforms, etc.). Inspect bolted and welded connections in accordance with project standards and applicable codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME, ISO, AISC). Conduct visual inspections (VT) and coordinate with NDT personnel for UT, RT, MT, and PT testing. Review and compile inspection and test reports (ITRs) and maintain accurate quality documentation for structural works. Witness and verify alignment, leveling, and plumbness of erected steel structures. Identify non-conformities, issue NCRs (if applicable), and follow up on corrective/preventive actions. Participate in punch listing, final inspection, and mechanical completion activities. Ensure strict compliance with company and project

HSE

policies during all QA/QC activities. Coordinate with construction, engineering, and client representatives for inspection and approvals.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma or Degree in

Mechanical

,

Civil

, or

Structural Engineering

from a recognized institution.

Certifications:

CSWIP 3.1

is mandatory. Additional NDT Level II certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT) preferred.

Experience:

Minimum

7-10 years

of experience in structural QA/QC inspection, preferably in the

Oil & Gas

,

Petrochemical

, or

Infrastructure

sectors. Hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication and erection inspections. Familiarity with international codes and standards such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, AISC, ISO, and BS codes.

Key Skills:

Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW) and structural steel standards. Proficient in reading structural drawings, isometrics, and fabrication sketches. Excellent documentation and reporting skills. Good interpersonal and coordination abilities with project and client teams. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
