Job Summary
The QA/QC Engineer - Electrical is responsible for ensuring that all electrical works are executed in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. The role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and coordination with project stakeholders to ensure high-quality electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP) for electrical works.
Review and approve electrical Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures.
Inspect electrical installations including:
Power and lighting systems
LV/MV cables and cable containment systems
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Panels, switchgear, transformers, and substations
Ensure compliance with approved shop drawings, project specifications, and applicable standards (IEC, BS, NEC, IEEE).
Coordinate inspections with consultants, clients, and third-party authorities.
Monitor site activities to ensure workmanship meets quality standards.
Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
Witness and verify electrical testing and commissioning activities such as:
Insulation resistance tests
Continuity tests
Earth resistance tests
Functional and performance tests
Review material submittals and ensure approved materials are used on site.
Maintain and control QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test records, and as-built documentation.
Conduct internal quality audits and site inspections.
Support project handover, final inspections, and close-out documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
QA/QC or Quality Management certification (preferred).
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Familiarity with local authority regulations (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, Kahramaa, etc.) is an advantage.
