About The Role Our position of Quality Manager, based in Casablanca, Morocco. The Quality Manager Plant is in charge of the quality function of the plant and this with regard to day-to-day Quality Management, ensuring the customer specifications and expectations are met, developing and driving improvement initiatives and ensure quality is embedded in projects and new developments related to the plant. The Quality Manager Plant manages and develops competences and talents of the team.
Key Responsibilities Include
Ensuring full implementation of Barry Callebaut Quality requirements, GSFI standard requirements and customer expectations through local procedures and work instructions alignment
Following up on local food regulations, escalating if required to Global or Regional Regulatory and integrating in local food safety standards to ensure compliance
Obtaining or maintaining site's approvals and certifications in both customer and being responsible for accreditation body audits and follow up of closing gaps
Supporting other functions to achieve compliance with the required standards and expectations
Ensuring training of local staff to achieve the food safety and quality systems objectives
Contributing to cost and efficiency improvement activities, taking into account quality requirements
Managing Quality Budget
Monitoring the performance by tracking relevant KPIs and taking relevant actions when and as required
Initiating and leading quality related improvement and problem solving teams using root cause problem solving tools such as 5 Why and Ishikawa analysis
Carrying out trend analysis and statistical data review to develop improvement plans
Following up corrective actions and verifying effectiveness of implemented measures.
Understanding, reviewing and providing feedback on the impact of projects and changes on management systems (e.g. HACCP, FSSC 22000, PEM, Sustainability standards).
Adapting and validating quality plans and systems to address changed or new ingredients, products, processes, production environment
Participating at meetings effectively, liaising with stakeholders and communicating and interact actively with all functions
Acting as coordinator for quality & food safety crisis and incidents management in the plant
Leading the follow-up of crisis/major quality & food safety incidents in the plant
Ensuring proper communication towards Regional Quality
Will be managing a team at a later date
Developing and maintaining competences and awareness for quality & food safety in the plant (FTQ improvement, reduction blocked stocks, complaint reduction, hygiene improvement, continuous improvement activities, etc.)
Building people empowerment and facilitating talent development and coaching with agreed plans
Developing people of own team, but also coaching of the first line management in being leaders of quality
About You
Master Degree in Food Science/Food Engineering or equivalent
Fluent in English - both written and oral
Native French speaker
8+ years of practical experience in Quality Assurance and HACCP environment of a food manufacturing environment
2+ years of leadership experience
Knowledge and experience in quality systems like FSSC22000, HACCP, BRC mandatory, religious and sustainable certifications an asset
Must have Project Management experience
Must have People Management experience
Continuous improvement (problem solving) and experience in incident management
Drive to deliver, taking initiatives and leadership skills, open mindset towards optimization and solution
Must have Compliance focus
Right mix between architect of a system and a "walk the talk" approach
Must have Internal and external customer focus
Transversal managerial skills (sharing knowledge and experience)
Being an effective communicator, navigating through different audiences
