The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of wood species, joinery materials, hardware, and associated supplies, with a proven ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is essential in ensuring the timely procurement of high-quality materials at competitive prices.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' procurement experience within a joinery or interior fit-out company in the UAE and be well-versed in dealing with local suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Procure joinery materials such as timber, veneers, MDF, plywood, hardware, fittings, and finishing materials
Source, assess, and maintain strong working relationships with approved and new suppliers
Negotiate costs, delivery timelines, and payment terms to maximize value and efficiency
Identify new vendors, raise purchase orders, and track deliveries to ensure timely material availability
Collaborate with production teams to forecast material requirements and avoid shortages or overstocking
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and prepare reports on pricing, quality, and supplier performance
Ensure all procured materials comply with company quality standards and technical specifications
Requirements:
At least 5 years of relevant experience as a Purchaser or Procurement Officer in a joinery, interior fit-out, or construction company
Strong understanding of joinery materials, hardware, and the UAE supplier market
Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills
Strong attention to detail with effective organizational and time-management abilities
