Job Title: Purchase Manager - Civil ConstructionJob Roles:

Oversee and manage the procurement of construction materials, tools, equipment, and services. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective procurement. Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet project timelines. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand material requirements. Monitor and control inventory to prevent material shortages or overstock. Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines. Handle negotiation of prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Maintain records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data for audit and reporting. Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal regulations. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement procurement best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Planning:

Develop procurement strategies aligned with project budgets and timelines. Forecast material requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Vendor Management:

Source reliable vendors and contractors. Evaluate and approve vendors based on quality, reliability, and pricing. Maintain an approved vendor database.

Material Management:

Ensure procurement of the right quality and quantity of materials. Coordinate with warehouses and sites for stock tracking and replenishment.

Cost Management:

Ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality. Conduct market analysis to stay updated with current material costs.

Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions. Ensure all procurement activities are well-documented and compliant with internal and legal standards.

Coordination & Communication:

Liaise between the procurement department, site engineers, and project managers. Provide regular updates to senior management on procurement status and issues.
