The Senior Purchaser is responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for contracting projects, ensuring timely sourcing of materials, subcontractors, and services at competitive prices while maintaining quality, compliance, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Handle procurement for construction/contracting projects (civil, MEP, ELV, fire fighting, etc.).
Source, evaluate, negotiate, and finalize suppliers and subcontractors.
Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate quotations, and prepare comparative statements.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up to ensure timely delivery to sites.
Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, QS, and Stores.
Ensure materials meet project specifications, drawings, and approved submittals.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues.
Maintain procurement records, contracts, and supplier database.
Support cost control and value engineering initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
Manage urgent and bulk procurement efficiently under project deadlines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
2-3 years of experience
in procurement within
contracting/construction industry
.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, MEP items, and local suppliers.
Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar).
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
UAE experience preferred (knowledge of local market & vendors).
