Project Secretary (construction Background)

Job Description

:
Our client is a large construction company is currently looking for a Project Secretary to be based in their Dubai office.
He will be responsible for all contracts and agreements and perform a range of tasks like proposing, drafting, negotiating administering and overseeing of execution of them.
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
The position will cover the support to the projects with the proper required routine contract and
commercial-related support to achieve projects' completion on time and with minimal risks.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management plans by monitoring
performance and addressing non-performance of the relevant parties, to achieve the required contract outcomes.
  • Administer contracts in liaising with the line manager and update contract details to maintain the integrity of contract information.
  • Establish and maintain the company and subcontractors/suppliers' relationships to identify and minimize risk and maximize the value of the contract.
  • Proactively identify and manage contract risks to meet organizational obligations and achieve the planned outcomes of the contract.

Will handle Contracts, Contracts Administration, Disputes handling - arbitration and litigations, project planning and scheduling etc.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate would have:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (as a minimum).
  • High knowledge of and administration of the general form of contracts, especially the FIDIC forms issued 1987, 1999 and
2017, mainly GREEN, RED and YELLOW forms.
  • High expertise in establishing and administering subcontracts.
  • High expertise in the preparations and defending of claims & variations.
  • Fair knowledge in the business applicable local laws.
  • Fair knowledge of the industry applied insurance policies.
Experience
  • Period of experience is of a minimum 10 years of the related field.
  • Of total experience, a minimum of 5 years in a successful: (a) contract's review,
(b) contract's administrator,
(c) claims and variation preparation and management.
  • Industrial knowledge.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Managing multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Very good interpersonal skills such as communication,
negotiation, listening, positive attitude, managing
conversation, teamwork, leadership, networking, persuasion and motivation, ...etc).
  • Organisational skills with high attention to details.
  • Fair knowledge of the planning software.
Added Qualifications
  • Fair knowledge in different types of piling, shoring, marine works specifications and methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Bank guarantees management.
  • NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER CURRENTLY IN THE UAE.
