Project QA/QC Manager
Position: Project QA/QC Manager
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Reports To: Corporate QA/QC Manager / Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Project QA/QC Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and auditing the project's Quality Management System (QMS). This role ensures that all materials, workmanship, and processes meet the project's quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, focusing on defect prevention and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

  • QMS Implementation: Develop and maintain the Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and all quality procedures specific to the project.
  • Audits & Inspections: Lead internal and external quality audits. Conduct systematic surveillance and inspections of works, materials, and subcontractor activities.
  • Documentation Control: Oversite the quality documentation system, ensuring all inspection reports, test certificates, material approvals, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) are properly generated, tracked, and closed.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and manage non-conforming work or materials. Lead root cause analysis and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors. Provide training on quality requirements and procedures to project staff and subcontractors.
  • Client & Third-Party Liaison: Act as the primary quality contact for the client's representative and regulatory/inspection authorities (e.g., for concrete pours, welding, etc.).
  • Reporting: Report on quality performance metrics, audit findings, and trends to project and senior management.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related).
  • 8+ years of experience in QA/QC, with at least 3 years in a management role on major construction projects.
  • Certified Lead Auditor training (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
  • Deep knowledge of relevant industry quality standards, codes, and testing procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively enforce quality standards.
