Objectives
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with Steering Committee and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Ensuring that projects are delivered to Fosroc and statutory QHSE and HQEBE.
  • Safeguarding project delivery within cost, quality and time targets
  • Rigourously utilise Fosroc project management methodologies and processes.
Success Criteria:
  • Measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • No QHSE issues
  • Controlling costs within agreed budget
  • Delivering projects within agreed timeline
  • Delivering complete projects scope, to agreed quality standards
  • Following Fosroc project methodology procedures, and Fosroc group standards
Projects Kick Off
  • Development of signed off detailed project scope, goals and deliverables, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Creating a detailed work plan identifying and sequencing the activities needed to successfully complete the project.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Draft and submit budget
  • Developing a signed off master project schedule, including stages from design through to project close out that effectively allocates the resources to the activities.
  • Developing signed off communications plan, to effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Propose and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
Projects Team
  • In consultation with OpCo projects sponsor at kick off, define and engage team members, with appropriate skills for the project activities
  • Manage projects staff according to AGF established policies and practices
  • Ensure that all projects personnel receive an appropriate orientation to the organization and the project
  • Contract qualified consultants to work on the projects as appropriate
Projects Control
  • Conduct weekly project team meeting, and circulate project reports for team, management and key stakeholders
  • Provide accurate project costings and support the preparation of finance memo authorisations.
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report actual cash flow and variance to senior management on a regular basis (monthly)
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Maintain master project schedule, and summarise key items in weekly report
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
  • Robustly manage and report projects risks and issues
  • Proactively manage changes in scope through formal change request procedure.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
Process Management
  • Responsible for process monitoring, process optimization, process capability assessment, process improvement and cost saving programs.
  • Ensure all manufacturing related activities are operating systematically and safely as per SSOP.
  • Identifies key elements of process improvement and partners with process owners to resolve production bottlenecks and ensure continuous improvement of production process.
  • Seek new suppliers and/or new equipment for more efficient manufacturing processes
  • Support company\'s initiatives on ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 and HSE policy.
  • Perform engineering evaluation, characterization and documentation for changes.
  • Lead and improve on the Product Quality Compliance with collaboration with Quality,
  • Lead and improve on the Machine Area Ownership and Housekeeping to create conducive working environment.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts to improve quality and reduce wastages at each production line.
  • Coordinates the development, implementation and follow up of the improvements in the methods / processes of the production line.
  • Solve problems in the manufacturing processes in order to achieve efficiency, productivity, safety and quality.
Role Description

To plan, execute and finalize all upgrade projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.

Projects activities will include:
  • Ensuring Fosroc QHSE standard delivery of project
  • Following Fosroc Project planning methodology
  • Establishment of team
  • Risk identification, logging and mitigation
  • Detail design and procurement
  • Implementation and installation
  • Commissioning and production trials
Projects will be conducted using Fosroc\'s established Project Management methodology and reporting/IT system.

Remainder of the project team are likely to be made up of existing Fosroc staff, either from AGF, or from Fosroc Group (Central) function. These team members will provide project resource at the same time as conducting their normal day-to-day duties.

Overall responsible in process monitoring, process optimization, process capability assessment, process improvement and cost saving programs

Key Skills and Experiences

Degree in Mechanical engineering from a recognised university.

5+ years\' experience in engineering with international certification in project management.

Proven track record in running complex Engineering projects through rigorous Project methodology.

Exposure to manufacturing/production in the chemicals or materials processing industries.

Experience in batch manufacturing.
