The Role

Key Responsibilities:

o Develop and maintain project schedules using planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent). o Plan and monitor project progress, resource allocation, and delivery timelines. o Prepare detailed plate nesting layouts to optimize material utilization and minimize waste. o Interpret fabrication drawings and coordinate with design and production teams for layout accuracy. o Support preparation of cutting plans and monitor material usage against project estimates. o Assist in preparing work orders, fabrication sequences, and material requirement plans. o Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely availability of materials. o Identify project delays or bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions. o Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management review. o Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and documentation standards.



Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

o Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field. o 4-5 years of experience in project planning, preferably in steel fabrication or metal works industry. o Hands-on experience in plate nesting software (e.g., SigmaNEST, NestFab, or similar). o Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). o Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera for project scheduling. o Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, materials, and production processes. o Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills. o Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Preferred Industry Background: o Structural steel fabrication o Oil & gas / marine fabrication o Heavy engineering or manufacturing industry
