Job Summary The Project Management Officer provides essential support to various projects, working with the Project Manager and other team members to achieve project success. The job incumbent administers and organizes all types of projects taking control of simple to more complex project activities and ensures that projects are completed on time and within the specified budget Key Accountabilities:
Assist with the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of projects
Work closely with the Sr. Project Management Officer in defining the project scope and in the development of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to facilitate effective administration of projects
Assist with the preparation of the Project Initiation Document (PID) to outline the purpose and requirements of the project
Assist with the preparation of the Project Implementation Plan (PIP) and other key documents to support the project
Assist with the creation of the Annual Work Plans (AWPs) and schedules for the project and its components
Assist with the development of the overall budget for the project as well as for project components, and conduct budget reviews and analyses in conjunction with the Sr. Project Management Officer
Act as the point of contact for all members of the project team ensuring effective flow of communication from inception to completion of the projects
Track project progress against the set goals and timelines, monitoring budget and expenditures, analysing risks, managing resources, and providing regular project updates to all team members
Assist in the preparation of project expenditure updates and other financial reports
Prepare regular reports to track the progress of project components including status of milestones and deliverables to ensure schedules and deadlines are being met
Identify project issues and possible solutions, and bring them to the attention of the senior team members
Assist in ongoing risk assessment and mitigation actions across all projects
Undertake other assignments from time to time, depending on the needs of the project
Experience & Education Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent.
3-4 years' experience in providing support to medium to large scale projects
Preferred:
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
