You will be impacting the need for interface management is the contracting structure employed in the project. Having a structured process for the exchange of information means that performance in satisfying requirements can be monitored and shortcomings highlighted and addressed. Encouraging meaningful communication between stakeholders and a requirement to provide specific and detailed information. Identifying and mitigating of issues with potential impact on cost or schedule and to promote clear, accurate, timely, and consistent communication between stakeholders. Your responsibilities
  • Integration: Taking responsibility for interface integration. Planning, managing and controlling interfaces and assuring that all interface points are clearly defined and documented at an early stage in the execution and that parties are aligned. Understanding their scope and responsibilities, ensuring no gaps or overlaps. Including technical interfaces and contractual interfaces. Developing and maintaining the PIMP as well as the interface register.
  • Scope Management - Taking responsibility for that interface are followed as per contractual requirements. Identifying scope creep and securing that additional customer requests are managed as variation orders, where cost and time impact is properly analyzed.
  • Time Management: Being responsible for the scheduling of interfaces, ensuring all interface deliverables have proper delivery dates, which should be linked to the overall project schedule. Defining as interface information associated with two distinct entities that is necessary for an entity to generate its own deliverables.
  • Cost Management: Understanding of the costs associated with interfaces and its potential cost exposure in case of delay, changes, quality issues etc. Identifying and modifying of issues with potential impact on cost.
  • Resource Management: Involving in interface management is typically the same as for the rest of the project. the PIM cooperate closely with the PEM and the rest of the engineering team. The PIM hosts regular scheduled interface coordination meetings.
  • Stakeholder Management: Mapping the stakeholders of the interface deliveries and planning how to manage and control the stakeholders, including customer experts, consultants, local authorities, engineering sub-contractors, partners etc.
  • Risk Management: Ensuring interface risks are properly identified and that mitigation actions are in place and followed. Risks should be tracked, reported and integrated in the overall risk management process.
  • Communication Management: Managing the communication with the customer, sub-suppliers, sub-contractors, partners etc. on interface matters and securing clear, accurate, timely, and consistent communication between stakeholders to ensure up-to-date exchange of information. Managing all communication with their own interface parties outside of the contractual relationships.
  • Procurement Management: Reviewing and validating interface agreements and ensuring alignment with budget and schedule.
  • Quality Management - Securing that relevant interface requirements are properly considered in the Project Quality Plan.
  • HSE Management: Participating in HSE processes and Safety by Design.
  • Safety and integrity: Living Hitachi Energy core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 10 years’ experience in project management.
  • Experience working with HVDC.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English and Arabic language is required.
