Project Geologist Superintendent

Job Description

Duties will include the development and implementation of mine geology, grade control and resource evaluation programs, including identifying and assessing project opportunities to enhance the project portfolio, the collection, review, interpretation and assessment of grade control and resource drilling results, design planning and implementation of grade control and mentoring and developing junior geology staff and always ensuring a safe work environment.

Responsibilities a. Preparing 3D geological and alteration modelling. Designing and reviewing blasthole production sampling techniques, QA/QC checks on drill core, RC, RAB, and blast hole production sampling, contributing to all metallurgical and geo-metallurgical studies and test programs done in the mine and interpreting various metallurgical and geological data sets for production improvement studies.

b. Designed various drilling, sampling, and testing programs for metallurgy - geometallurgy. Correlating Cu and Au recoveries of different metallurgical test techniques with geology/alteration/geotechnical information.

c. Managing technical consultants to produce grade control model, geological modelling, and progress study work.

d. Perform directly and provide guidance to our geologists in the matter of grade control and mine geology, including, geological data quality assurance, sampling data QA/QC, geological modeling, n, production geology, resource reconciliation and resource risks and opportunities.

e. Preparing 3D geological and alteration modelling. Designing and reviewing blasthole production sampling techniques, QA/QC checks on drill core, RC, RAB, and blast hole production sampling,

f. Preparing annual departmental budgets, and ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling operations.

g. Contributing to all metallurgical and geo-metallurgical studies and test programs done in the mine and interpreting various metallurgical and geological data sets for production improvement studies.

h. Designed various drilling, sampling, and testing programs for metallurgy - geometallurgy. Correlating Cu and Au recoveries of different metallurgical test techniques with geology/alteration/geotechnical information.

Requirements

Qualifications B.Sc. Degree in Geology.

3D modelling training/certificate

Minimum 10-15 years of experience with demonstrated knowledge and experience.

A strong drive to deliver mine geology success and take ownership for the execution of the grade control. Ability to identify, plan, develop and achieve grade control programs and budgets.

Commercial acumen.

Experience with 3D modelling software and development of geological models.

Willingness to work in remote areas in a field camp environment.
