Jacobs is looking for a talented Project Director, to join our Cities and Places team in Dubai. You have the opportunity to lead and deliver challenging buildings projects, mixed-use developments and unique places of human interaction. You will be responsible for managing cross functional, multi-disciplinary teams, with the ability to provide direction across the team to ensure delivery of client projects whilst developing new business. Be part of a world class developments and make a major contribution to iconic projects. Make a difference in the Project Management function on Urban & Masterplanning, Buildings and Hotels enabling us to offer our clients truly comprehensive solutions for some of the challenges they are facing.
In addition to this, your duties will be the following:
  • Act as the company representative with the client and selected suppliers during the project initiation and execution.
  • Influence and support client project delivery through effective and proportionate planning, monitoring, controlling, and reporting of performance.
  • Ensure and oversee positive project financial health and cashflow and deliver the envisaged margins.
  • Ensure appropriate services to the project are delivered through technical, engineering, project controls, commercial and financial support functions.
  • Review, approve and ensure effective implementation of the Project Execution Plan, Procurement Strategies and Project Delivery Strategies.
  • Challenge the design to ensure that the client receives the product based on international best practice.
  • Attend and leading team and project meetings, cascade relevant information and encourage feedback from team.
  • Report on project performance to the operational management.
  • Promote and foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct meaningful inductions, performance management reviews and personal development plans that support the development of individuals and the business.
  • Lead by example and ensure QMS and Project lifecycle compliance across their team and projects.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
As a successful candidate you will have a BS or MS degree in Architecture or Engineering, from a recognized university, with hands on experience on Mega projects. You will ideally have experience from the Middle East, in the capacity of a senior project manager / project director in the Middle East. It is important that you can demonstrate a strong knowledge of recognized program / project management control principles, with the ability to motivate others and work to tight deadlines. You will have excellent client management skills and have the capacity to work with and lead diverse teams when under pressure whilst always being commercially savvy, in what is considered a rapidly changing sector. An internationally recognized professional registrations would be a plus. Jacobs. A world where you can.
