: Product Design & Development Specialist Company: Manufacturing Company specializing in Architectural Products : We are seeking a Product Design & Development Specialist to join our team at a manufacturing company that specializes in architectural products. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in using Autodesk Products design and manufacturing software. The primary responsibility of this role is to digitize all our products, automate the generation of bills of material (BOMs), and provide cost estimation data for use in supplier quality (SQ) and work orders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Digitization:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather physical product specifications, drawings, and other relevant information.
- Utilize Autodesk Products design and manufacturing software to create digital representations of architectural products, including 2D and 3D models.
- Automatically generate BOMs from the digital product models, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain and update BOMs as product designs evolve, reflecting any changes in materials, components, or configurations.
- Use Autodesk software and other relevant tools to estimate manufacturing costs based on the digital product design and BOM.
- Analyze cost factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and overhead to provide accurate cost data.
- Collaborate with design engineers, production teams, and procurement departments to ensure that product designs are feasible, cost-effective, and align with manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide input and recommendations to optimize product designs for cost-efficiency and quality.
- Maintain detailed records of product designs, BOMs, and cost estimates.
- Prepare reports and documentation to facilitate communication with various stakeholders, including management, suppliers, and production teams.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in Autodesk Products design and manufacturing software to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline product design and development workflows.
- Bachelor\'s degree in engineering, industrial design, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in using Autodesk Products design and manufacturing software.
- Strong knowledge of CAD modeling and product design principles.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials used in architectural products.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
- Bachelor\'s (Preferred)
- Fire Rated Doors: 3 years (Preferred)
- Metal Ceiling & Cladding: 3 years (Preferred)
- Metal Enclosure: 3 years (Preferred)
- Precision Fabrication: 3 years (Preferred)
- Autodesk Products design and manufacturing Software: 3 years (Preferred)
