We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced
Production Officer
to oversee and manage the production operations of our steel manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, process optimization, quality control, and team leadership in a steel production environment. The Production Officer will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining safety standards, achieving quality goals, and meeting production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Control:
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the day-to-day production activities.
Develop and implement production schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and resource availability.
Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and customer demands.
Maintenance Coordination: Ensure required maintenance to be scheduled and performed on production machinery.
Process Optimization:
Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Implement process improvements and cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to optimize production line setups, reducing downtime and increasing output.
Quality Assurance & Control:
Ensure all production processes comply with quality standards and specifications.
Monitor production quality and take corrective actions when necessary.
Oversee regular quality checks and audits, ensuring the final product meets both internal and external standards.
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and lead a team of production workers, operators, and supervisors.
Train and develop staff to improve skills, performance, and knowledge.
Foster a positive, productive, and safety-conscious work environment.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workplace standards.
Ensure the factory premises neat & clean, proper markings on the floor, and paintain proper health measures
Conduct regular safety audits and provide training to staff on safety procedures.
Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Civil Defense/ HSE Renewal Coordination: oversee the requirements for the renewal process
Inventory & Resource Management:
Monitor raw material usage, inventory levels, and order supplies as needed to avoid production delays.
Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and components.
Manage and optimize the use of production tools, equipment, and machinery.
Reporting & Analysis:
Provide regular reports on production performance, including output, efficiency, quality, and resource utilization.
Prepare forms of workers: leave application form, rejoining form, etc.
Prepare incident reports for any equipment failure or breakdown caused by machineries and Production Interruption Report
Prepare the MRN (Material Receipt Note) of the incoming materials received
Analyze production data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with the management team to set KPIs and align production goals with business objectives.
Production & Slitting Planning: Oversee daily and weekly production schedule, and ensure timely delivery.
Raw Material Management: stock levels monitoring and coordinate with the Costing and Purchasing Department
Production Line Monitoring: Supervise the performance and efficiency of production lines
Workforce Management: Oversee the production team, allocate resources, and manage manpower shift change
Requisition for Consumables/ Spares: required for the machinery to the Purchase Department
Preparation of Production Cost, Production Report, Variance Analysis Report
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a production or manufacturing role, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory position in the steel industry.
In-depth knowledge of steel production processes, machinery, and safety regulations.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to analyze data and make informed, data-driven decisions.
Proficient in using production management software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
Strong knowledge of quality control processes and lean manufacturing principles.
Personal Attributes:
Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of staff.
Fluency in English; Hindi knowledge is a plus.
Other Requirements:
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
Knowledge of UAE Labor laws and regulations is a plus.
