Apparel Production Manager Job Duties

Managing labor costs by reviewing employee performance and terminating poor performers while encouraging high performers to stay with the company
Reviewing production schedules to determine whether they can be met by the factory's current production capacity
Establishing relationships with vendors and suppliers in order to obtain materials needed for new product lines
Ensuring quality control by inspecting finished products for defects or flaws that may need to be corrected
Ensuring that production runs smoothly by providing guidance to employees on time management and task prioritization
Coordinating with marketing staff to determine seasonal trends that may affect production needs
Communicating with clients to ensure that they are satisfied with the final product
Communicating with workers to ensure that they understand their tasks, are comfortable with their working conditions, and are treated fairly by management
Overseeing the budget and financial planning for apparel manufacturers or suppliers
