Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

Plan, organize, and supervise the daily manufacturing operations of the workshop (metal works, joinery, and other fit-out components). Allocate manpower, machinery, and materials efficiently to meet project deadlines. Implement and monitor production schedules, ensuring timely delivery of projects. Enforce quality control standards and ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of raw materials and hardware. Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of machines, tools, and equipment. Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks, and delays proactively.

Estimation & Costing:

Review project drawings, BOQs, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates. Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs for metal fabrication and fit-out works. Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to support cost estimates. Prepare detailed proposals, quotations, and cost breakdowns for client approval. Monitor actual production costs against estimates to improve future pricing accuracy. Support the sales and project teams with technical input during client discussions.

Coordination & Communication:

Liaise with project managers, designers, and clients to understand technical and commercial requirements. Provide production status updates to management and ensure alignment with project timelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Architecture, or related field. Minimum 5-6 years' experience in production management and estimation within the retail fit-out and/or metal fabrication industry. Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, workshop operations, and fit-out manufacturing methods. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, AutoCAD, and shop drawings. Hands-on experience with estimation software/tools and MS Office. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
