Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



Plan and supervise

daily foundry operations

to meet production goals and delivery timelines. Monitor and improve

casting processes

such as mold preparation, metal melting/pouring, and shakeout. Analyze and troubleshoot

production issues

, including casting defects and process delays. Ensure

optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials

. Collaborate with the design and tooling teams to

develop or modify patterns and molds

. Implement

process improvements

to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and control costs. Maintain strict adherence to

health, safety, and environmental regulations

. Assist in developing

standard operating procedures (SOPs)

and ensure operators follow them. Prepare and maintain

production reports, shift logs

, and performance metrics. Participate in

new product development

trials and pilot casting runs. Coordinate with the Quality Control department to ensure

compliance with specifications

and rectify deviations. Lead or support

root cause analysis (RCA)

for recurring production problems and drive

corrective actions

.

Qualifications and Skills:



Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in

Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy

, or related discipline. Minimum

2-5 years

of relevant experience in a foundry production environment. Strong knowledge of

metal casting processes

(e.g., sand casting, shell molding, die casting). Familiarity with

melting practices

, metallurgy, and material handling. Proficient in

reading technical drawings

and interpreting production specifications. Experience with

lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen

, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work in

hot, noisy, and physically demanding environments

.
