The Production Engineer will lead and manage end-to-end production and fabrication activities for oil & gas and fueling equipment, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, cost control, and strict adherence to international and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage production and fabrication of Mobile Fuel Stations, fuel storage tanks, pressure vessels, fueling skids, tanker bodies, structural skids, and modular oil & gas equipment.
Plan, organize, and control shop-floor activities to meet project schedules, quality requirements, and cost targets.
Interpret and execute GA drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, WPS, ITPs, and production documents in coordination with Design and Project teams.
Supervise fabrication processes including cutting, rolling, welding, fit-up, assembly, blasting, painting, testing, and final dispatch.
Ensure compliance with API, ASME, UL (where applicable), EN standards, and client requirements such as ADNOC, ENOC, EMARAT, and project-specific specifications.
Coordinate with Design Engineers to resolve fabrication queries, constructability issues, drawing clarifications, and revisions.
Manage production manpower including welders, fitters, fabricators, painters, helpers, and subcontractors.
Prepare and monitor manhour estimates, productivity norms, daily progress reports, and fabrication schedules.
Control material flow by coordinating with Procurement for timely availability of plates, pipes, fittings, valves, instruments, coatings, and bought-out items.
Oversee subcontracted fabrication and external workshops, including inspection, progress tracking, and quality verification.
Ensure implementation of WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and adherence to approved welding procedures.
Coordinate with QA/QC for NDT (RT, UT, MPI, DPT), hydrostatic testing, pneumatic testing, vacuum box testing, and coating inspections.
Enforce HSE compliance including confined space work, hot work permits, lifting operations, and safe material handling.
Support FAT, client inspections, and third-party inspections.
Assist Project Engineers with execution planning, risk mitigation, and resolving production bottlenecks.
Maintain proper production records, traceability documents, heat numbers, MTCs, and fabrication dossiers.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce rework, minimize wastage, and improve delivery timelines.
Coordinate installation, loading, transportation, and site erection when required.
Support commissioning and handover activities.
Report to the Project Engineer / Project Manager with regular updates on production status, risks, and mitigation plans.
Be flexible to travel to subcontractor yards, client sites, and project locations as required.
Support company growth through high production reliability, quality output, and strong shop-floor discipline.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
8+ years experience in oil & gas / fueling systems fabrication & production
Strong knowledge of fabrication drawings, P&IDs, WPS, ITPs
Experience with API, ASME, EN standards and ADNOC / ENOC / EMARAT requirements
Hands-on exposure to welding, NDT coordination, blasting & painting
Proven ability in manpower planning, subcontractor control, and shop-floor HSE
Good coordination skills with Design, QA/QC, Procurement, and Project teams
Proficient in MS Office; ERP knowledge preferred
