PRODUCTION ENGINEER
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Department: Production / Manufacturing / Engineering
Reporting To: Production Manager / Plant Manager
Job Summary
The Production Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing production processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality. This role bridges the gap between the design of a product and its mass production, requiring a hands-on engineer who can troubleshoot issues, manage projects, and ensure that production targets are met safely and on time.
Key Responsibilities

• Process Design & Improvement:
• Design and document production processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production line and implement sustainable solutions.
• Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement to enhance productivity.
• Production Planning & Support:
• Work closely with the production planning team to ensure the manufacturability of products and realistic scheduling.
• Provide daily technical support to the production floor to resolve mechanical, electrical, or process-related issues.
• Monitor production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance against targets.
• Quality & Safety Compliance:
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to establish quality control points and address non-conformities.
• Ensure all production activities adhere to strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions for identified hazards.
• New Product Introduction (NPI):
• Lead or support the introduction of new products from the prototyping stage to full-scale production.
• Coordinate with the R&D and Design Engineering teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing (Design for Manufacturability - DfM).
• Equipment & Tooling Management:
• Specify, procure, and commission new production equipment and tooling.
• Oversee the preventive maintenance schedule and collaborate with the maintenance team to minimize machine downtime.
• Cost Management:
• Analyze production costs and identify opportunities for waste reduction and cost savings (e.g., material, energy, labor).

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a production or manufacturing engineering role, preferably in an industrial setting in the UAE/GCC.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of production machinery, processes, and engineering principles.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and MS Office.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher is a plus), and Root Cause Analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong project management capabilities.
• Effective communication skills to interact with operators, technicians, and management.
• Fluency in English is essential.
