: The Production Engineer works closely with the Production Engineer Supervisor to ensure that high quality proactive maintenance and reactive support is provided for the Broadcast Production Systems. In this role the engineer will be responsible for completing a number of tasks involved in setting up production facilities in Abu Dhabi and in other parts of the Middle East, North Africa and internationally, working to a very high standard in order to insure the output is both professional and technically. Key Responsibilities:

• Strong operational skills on a broad range of television remote broadcast and production equipment such as: SNG satellite uplink/downlink equipment, microwave, Bonding equipment, video encoding, ENG/Studio cameras and support equipment, A/V routers and infrastructure, video switchers, audio mixers, media decks, NLE edit systems and storage devices, fiber optic links, signal processing and transcoding devices, production communications (intercom) and computer systems/ IT networks architecture.
• Coordinate properly with the team on the field to ensure that all systems are fully operational before tuning to live coverage.
• Provide 24/7 re-active support to the systems and services on the field.
• Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and fault finding at the earliest possible opportunity, ensure that all issues are logged and reported to high standards.
• Operate satellite trucks and perform equipment maintenance.
• Direct multiple cameras in the field and overseas for the full production from start to finish.
• Provide operational and technical support of Media Command centre/studio.
• Prepared to travel at short notice.
• Attend regular meetings to high-light technical and logistical requirements for future events and breaking news stories.

Key Skills, Experience and Education:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in electrical, Electronics, or Communications Engineering. Additional studies that emphasize Radio Frequency (RF) communication systems, particularly satellite communications and/or radio wave propagation.
• 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 Experience in broadcast field production from DSNG to IP streaming.
• Fluency in Arabic + Good in English (speaking & writing).
• Significant experience in newsgathering operations / satellite field operations is required.
• Resourceful for any new set up on the field.
• Has a full understanding of production techniques including Operations on Camera, sound technics, lighting, bonding equipment, IP Streaming etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations frequently encountered in field remote environments.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal, written) required.
• Demonstrated competency in a wide variety of technology and business contexts, including analysing and solving complex technical problems.
• Ability to work independently and autonomously in a team-based environment.
• Capable of setting up Communications for live broadcast in the field.
• Networking capabilities; including knowledge of NDI based systems and set up.
• Understanding ST2110 standard and related systems will be a plus.
• Advanced knowledge in frequency modulation and equipment working on High frequency range bandwidth.
• Proficient with both Windows and MAC.
• Good knowledge of Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint. Auto CAD experience would be beneficial.
• Understanding of editing suite set ups.
• Understanding of International Customs and Duties for shipping and travelling with equipment such as a CARNET or Load Lists.
• Capable of working for long hours.
• The ability to work under pressure and in teamwork environment.
• Analytical and commercial thinker.
• Detail oriented and organized with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities effectively.
